Buddy Rizzo is a sweet 8 year old Golden Retriever. In the early morning, he gets his exercise by running on the golf course and finding stray golf balls, tennis balls, or chasing birds. Riding in the car with mom, is a favorite, especially sitting in the front seat with his seatbelt fastened. He loves to be brushed and have his nails clipped and even meditates with his mom! He is a joyful 100 lb. bundle of happiness.

Buddy's best tricks are that he can open doors, find golf balls a mile away, and he helps his mom clean up by putting his toys away in his toy box. His favorite foods are: chicken strips, garlic chicken at Fat Boys take-out restaurant in Kailua, Hawaii and peanut butter.

Buddy the Dog met President Barack Obama on the 18th hole of Mid Pacific Country Club, in Lankai, Hawaii on December 24, 2008. Obama shook Buddy's mom, Liz Rizzo's hand. Mom said he has a soft hand but a firm handshake. He pet Buddy on the head and said" what a good looking dog". Buddy wagged his tail like never before. On December 29th, Buddy was on his walk and spotted Obama again and got a few cool photos. Buddy is drinking water on the golfcourse in the above photo. Buddy and his mom wish Obama and his family the best in the coming year. Buddy is running on the golf course in the photos below. See Buddy run. Buddy is laying in the flowers under a tree on Mid Pacific Golf Course. (17th hole) Dogs love golf too. Buddy can find a golf ball in the rough from hundreds of yards away. He used to find a dozen missing golf balls each time we walked the course before the golfers played. Of course we had permission to walk on the course and always respected the rules. Now Buddy walks the beaches of Kailua and Lanikai. If you see him, please come by and say hello.

Buddy Meets Gibson the Worlds Tallest Dog

My name is Buddy Rizzo. That’s what they call me at the doggie doctor’s office, or when my mom is hollering at me to drop the chicken bones at the park. “Buddy Rizzo drop that bone, right now!” I am a Golden Retriever. I am a tall dog. I am big, but gentle and smart. I will share some of my doggie issues and some stories about my animal friends every month right here. My mom is helping me write this column so she will tell you what’s on my mind. We want to share with you some things that are happening to dogs and cats around the world.
